Our striking designs are hand printed onto luxurious natural materials Linen, hemp & organic cotton. We love the natural world. Based in the the Garden of England we have a rich landscape on our doorstep full of botanical inspiration ready to pour onto textiles. Our fabrics are hand screen printed in our Whitstable Studio where we create all of our exquisite artisan cloth.
We take a slower approach to how we produce our textiles. At the heart of our work we embrace pattern, shapes and colours, discovered in our local heritage and surrounding landscapes to create cloth that tells a story. We celebrate local traditions raising awareness of their provenance.
We only working with natural materials including linen, hemp and organic cotton base cloths. We use eco friendly and natural dyes.
Francesca's grandfather moved to London from Munich in 1930, where he had been an agent for Spitzenhaus (lace house) Klauber. He set up a lingerie textile business in London's Regent Street and Great Sutton Street, which he ran successfully until the late 70s when textile production began moving overseas. Her family then moved to Kent to start one of the early UK organic farms and organic farm box schemes.
Having been a part of the “slow food movement” all her life and now witnessing it go mainstream in recent years, she is keen to promote the same ethos throughout her work. Her aim now is to create a business model that provides studio-produced textiles, which have been carefully sourced, printed and made locally whilst working with the community to grow the business and build a creative hub to inspire future generations.
